  Birdville ISD Digital Learning Platform

Overview

Picture
In Birdville ISD we believe that Digital Citizenship should be modeled and practiced every day by every individual.  We practice and model Digital Citizenship as we research, connect, learn, create, share, solve problems, and communicate online.
Birdville ISD Digital Citizenship curriculum and programs meet the updated  legal mandates. The new updates require educating students about “appropriate online behavior, including interacting with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms, and cyber bullying awareness and response.”
As digital citizens, all stakeholders need remember these key points:
  • Respect: treat others with respect,
  • Integrity foster a strong moral compass: build and maintain a positive digital footprint
  • Responsibility: respect intellectual property boundaries and be responsible for actions
  • Literacy: Deep knowledge of media literacy/evaluating information
  • Empathy: Kindness and compassion toward other digital citizen
  • We can't just give students information about Internet Safety or Digital Citizenship, we much teach them skills through role-play, open-ended discussion/debate/reflection and PRACTICE.
